The GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership is an EPA cooperative alliance with the supermarket industry and other stakeholders. The partnership was established to promote advanced technologies, strategies, and practices that reduce refrigerant charges and emissions of ozone-depleting substances and greenhouse gases.
Partners must use advanced refrigeration technologies, strategies, or practices that reduce emissions of ozone depleting substances and greenhouse gases.
Partners include:
· Supermarkets · Manufacturers of Advanced Refrigeration Systems · Manufacturers of Refrigerants
The Goals of GreenChill are: · Support the transition of partners’ commitment to use non ozone depleting substances · Reduce ozone-depleting and greenhouse gas emissions · Promote the advancement of greener refrigeration technologies · Reduce the supermarket industry’s impact on the ozone layer and climate change.
By signing a partnership agreement, partners promote the use of greener technologies, strategies, and practices associated with the commercial supermarket refrigeration. The program is designed to reduce the negative environmental impacts of commercial supermarket refrigeration systems on the ozone layer and climate change.More information on GreenChill and joining the program can be found here.
