Alaska Wilderness League: Ask President Obama to protect the Arctic

Speak out for the Arctic and ask the President to protect the wildlife and humans that depend on it.
Take Action to Help Ailing Elephants Now!

Please take a minute of your time to help spare Karen, Nicole, and Sara from additional suffering by politely urging Secretary of Agriculture Thomas J. Vilsack to stop folding to pressure from Ringling and to immediately seize these ailing elephants before it's too late—foot disorders and arthritis are the leading reasons for euthanasia in captive elephants.
Protect Yellowstone From Big Coal!

Old Faithful, Yellowstone Falls, and hot springs draw nearly 3 million visitors to Yellowstone National Park each year. However, coal pollution from power plants like the Colstrip coal-fired power plant in Montana is impacting the magnificent views and unique Yellowstone experience. We must ensure that present and future generations experience Yellowstone the way it was intended: clean, clear, and unspoiled by coal pollution. Tell the EPA to require the best technology available to curb coal pollution on coal-fired power plants near Yellowstone National Park and preserve the park for years to come.
Stop the Slaughter of the U.S Turtles

The United States is home to more varieties of turtle than any other country in the world. But unregulated global trade is rapidly depleting our native turtles. Millions of wild-caught freshwater turtles are exported to Asian food and medicinal markets each year. Given the vastness of this market, the United States has a duty to take the lead in promoting responsible commercial turtle trade. Listing these turtles under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species is a critical step toward ensuring such trade does not threaten their survival.
Help Stop the War on Wolves in Idaho!

When Congress stripped federal protections from wolves in the Northern Rockies one year ago, we warned that hundreds of wolves in the region would be killed. It's especially bad in Idaho. Broken promises and political pandering to anti-wolf extremists has led to the elimination of more than 400 wolves -- almost half the state's wolf population -- in just one year. Sign our petition below to tell Idaho Governor Otter that decimating the state's wolves is unethical, unscientific and unacceptable in modern-day wildlife management.
Sierra Club: Tell Congress Protect Us From Toxic Chemicals

Did you know that in the United States, companies aren't required to prove the chemicals they use are safe? Did you know that it's been thirty-five years since Congress has taken action to protect Americans from toxic chemicals? That's thirty-five years of new science and research that's gone ignored. That’s thirty-five years of children and families put at risk. We've been waiting too long. The Safe Chemicals Act will protect American families by forcing chemical companies to prove their products are safe before they reach the market.
Sign our letter today calling on Congress to pass the Safe Chemicals Act.
Pew Environment Group: The Wildlife of Alaska is at Risk

Alaska’s 22-million-acre National Petroleum Reserve provides important subsistence resources for Alaska Natives and vital habitat for caribou, migratory birds, grizzly and polar bears, walruses, seals, and more. The future of the reserve is being decided now, and we need your help to ensure that this unique ecosystem is protected! Please ask Interior Secretary Ken Salazar to protect key habitat in America’s Arctic
Center for Biological Diversity: Cut Global Warming Pollution From Power Plants

A new Clean Air Act rule by the EPA requires most new power plants to produce no more CO2 than a typical new natural gas plant. The proposal may help discourage construction of new coal-fired power plants in the future. Please take a moment to tell the EPA that we need a strong rule that actually reduces greenhouse gas emissions now for all power plants, without exception.
The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics: Tell Congress to Stop Industry Trojan Horse Bill

“The Cosmetic Safety Amendments Act of 2012” was recently introduced by Representative Leonard Lance (R-NJ). This bill was written by the Personal Care Products Council, a trade association that represents the big multinational cosmetic companies. This is a classic Trojan horse – it may sound like a step forward on the surface but the “fine print” inside the bill would allow industry to continue placing profits over public health.
Please write your member of Congress today and demand meaningful reform that protects our health.
Sierra Club:Help us Protect the Arctic from Big Oil!

America's Arctic, in Northern Alaska, is one of the Earth's last great untouched wilderness areas. It's home to 20% of the Earth's polar bears, the Arctic's greatest concentration of both grizzly bears and wolverines, and one of the largest caribou herds on Earth. But Big Oil wants to drill there, as early as this summer. Tell President Obama that some places are just too special to drill – he should protect both the Polar Bear Seas and the Western Arctic
