Gia Machlin, President and CEO.







Gia is a successful entrepreneur with a track record of building strong teams and lasting companies. She has 20 years of consulting/training experience and a deep commitment to helping combat environmental issues through social enterprise.


Prior to founding EcoPlum, Gia was President and Principal of MMC 20/20 Systems, Inc. In 1998, Gia co-founded Plan Data Management, Inc. (PDM), and grew it into a thriving software and data services provider servicing Fortune 500 companies. PDM was acquired by a public company in 2006.


Gia’s professional experience also includes management consulting with the Machlin Consulting Group and Deloitte & Touche, and sales and marketing with Unisys and AT&T.


Gia received her M.B.A. with honors from the Columbia Business School and she received her B.S. in Industrial Engineering/Operations Research with honors from the Columbia University School of Engineering and Applied Science.


Gia is an active member of the Women Presidents’ Organization and participates in several mentoring programs including the Non-Profit Board Leadership Program at Columbia Business School. She is on the Columbia Business School Alumni Club’s Sustainable Business Committee and co-chair of communications committee.


Gia serves as Chairman of the Board of the Blue Card, Inc., a non-profit organization that provides cash assistance to needy Holocaust survivors. She chairs the technology committee at PS 166 in Manhattan, the communications committee at Columbia Secondary School for Science, Math and Engineering, and she served on the board of the Parents Association at the JCC in Manhattan.


She lives on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with her husband Corey and her two children Noah and Talia.  Her mother and father, now in their late 80s and early 90s, continue to be her inspiration.
