Michael is an environmental attorney in Baltimore, Maryland. Many of his clients are commercial developers involved in the redevelopment of environmentally stressed properties. Michael also provides environmental legal services to the Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority. The Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority works with counties on waste management options by combining recycling with combustion and energy recovery, composting and landfilling.

Before establishing a solo practice, Michael served as an Assistant Attorney General with the Maryland Department of the Environment.
During his tenure with the Attorney General's Office, Michael litigated matters involving the State’s hazardous waste and air program.

Prior to his position at the Maryland’s Attorney General Office, he served as a regulatory specialist and environmental scientist for approximately 15 years with the United States Environmental Protection Agency. During that time, he assisted in the development of national Brownfields guidance and regulations associated with the Clean Air Act, Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) and Superfund guidance. Additionally, Michael served as an Acting Permit Chief for the West Virginia Air Pollution Control Commission and also as an RCRA/Superfund specialist for the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
